I used to be creative and quick thinking with Unix (by far my favorite OS) ...

before my Baby Agustin (10 mo now) was diagnosed wcf... Now I'm not being that

good at work. Thank G*d my employers understand what I'm going through, so they

don't put too much pressure on me. I understand that your husband thinks that

he CAN'T neglect his job ... as I am doing with mine -- I find it impossible to

be great at software programming and take good care of all of my baby's needs...

As far as supplements, how about PediaSure, instead of Ensure Plus? As far as I

know, PediaSure is specifically formulated for infants. And you'll find it in

many pharmacies. I have given it to Agustin a few times, but I finally stopped

it because it'd cause too much gas to him... :-( Besides, Agustin has been

doing reasonably well for the past three months, as far as weight is concerned

(a little less than 1lb each month).

CF: Help! I need Supplement Advise

I was hoping that someone might have some advise on supplements. My

daughter Emma is currently taking Scandical. Every morning, my husband

happens to be the first one downstairs in the morning while I breast feed

her and do her therapy. As a result, he makes up her bottles including

Scandical. Well, he doesn't really seem to be fully in touch with

reality these days. At work he's extremely competent and by far

considered one of their best employees, specifically for his creativity

and quick thinking (a unix systems administrator and manager). Well, he

is absolutely nothing like this at home. He's absent minded and

basically does very little in the way of helping us just get through the

day. He only does things around the house unless specifically instructed

to do so and he does a good job if simply told what to do. However, he

doesn't seem capable of just looking around and just noticing for himself

what needs to be done.

So ... now that I have ranted about my problem with my husband, you may

be asking what happened. He allowed us to run out of Scandical, the day

after we find out she's only gained three ounces in a month. I usually

order it but I need him to tell me it's low since he does the bottles

everyday. I just happened to check on Thursday and immediately ordered

it but this morning we ran out and it still hasn't arrived. He spent the

day (after getting an earful) looking for it or something equivalent at

some of the local medical supply stores and pharmacies. No one had

anything or any advise on what to do. He picked up some Ensure Plus and

he figured he could maybe just add a few tablespoons to her bottle. I

didn't think this is a good idea, especially without talking to the

doctor. I have no idea if this product is appropriate for a nine month

old. Does anyone have any advise on how to find a supplement such as

Scandical in a hurry. We are already increasing the formula in her

bottles as instructed by her physician since she has such a poor appetite

so we really need a supplement.
