Guest guest Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 I have always pretty much believed that a calorie is a calorie (or in this case a point is a point *g*), whenever you eat it. I know a lot of fit people who believe that you should eat a little something before to keep your metabolic furnace humming along. Guest guest Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I had the pain in my breast going down my arm and it was from a hiatial hernia. However, that being said, it would probably be a good idea to have your heart checked out, as that can be a symptom of heart disease, especially with the weakness and fatigue. Has your doctor suggested a mammogram, ultrasound and possibly asperation if it is a cyst? As we get older heart disease is the #1 killer of women, not breast cancer as many believe. Good luck and will keep you in my thoughts. Ruth > > I went to see my doctor. She found a lump in the breast. Now she > thinks it is a cysit. Could it be anything else? Guest guest Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Hi, Did you tell the dr about the pain in your arm? If not call her and tell her. Do you drink/eat a lot of things with caffeine? Chocolate, coffee, soda? That can sometimes cause cysts and cutting back or stopping caffeine will help. As far as being weak and fatigued that could be most anything. What did your dr say about that? If you didn't tell her or it started after your appointment you definitely need to call her or go back. I will keep you in my prayers. Or the doctor will say let me worry about it. Well I have news for those doctors. It's not their body. If the lump is malignant, it is best to catch it early. Lately, I have found a lump in my only remaining breast. I have a doctor and oncologist that is aware of early detection. So far I have had a mammogram and ultrasound of the breast. Both are negative. I am going to have a MRI just to make sure. Peace of mind is important. Quote

I had a mammogram on Jan 7th and also a sonagram. A solid mass was found in the right breast. I was told it's very far back and about an inch. That same day a biopsy was done. That's when I came home and found this forumn. It was four days later when the results came in. And I am happy to say the mass is benign. The Dr at the imaging center and my GYN both agree to have it removed. Therefore, surgery is scheduled for this Thursday.I was told by the surgeon that I would be an out patient and can go back to work on Monday. I've been reading and searching for info on this and it all sounds like it's a much longer process. Does anyone else have any experience?I didn't know where else to post thisThanksNitsa Quote

Guest guest Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 OUCH!!! Guest guest Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Hi Nitsa, I had a lumpectomy on the 19th Jan as well as lymph node removal as my tumour was cancerous, the breast was good a little soreness as the cut was under the nipple and I felt a lot of pulling but I could deal with that. The cut where the lymph nodes were removed was a different story altogether, but you shouldn't have to worry about that. I don't think you'll have much discomfort, but you may feel a little tired as, in my opinion, you body will be directing it's energy into repairing the damage to your breast. Don't rush into things and let your body repair...Jen Quote

Guest guest Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 Oh my that nurse better go back to school and learn about breast cancer and lymphedema. You aren't even supposed to wear a wrist watch thats tight because you could get lymphedema. You better call the the dr first thing in the morning. Somewhere around here I have some bracelets that you can wear, they are a thicker plastic, that warn the doc, nurses not to use that arm. Its almost 16 yrs for me and noone has ever even attempted to use my surgery side. I will keep you in my prayers. If you want to send me your name and address PRIVATELY I will look for one and if I find it I will send it to you. I have 2 alert bracelets whichnobody ever reads; it is necessary to remind med personnel almost everytime not to "stick" me on the surgery side, I write "NO BP CUFF ORNEEDLES" up my arm IN INDELIBLE RED INKconscious or semi-conscious during a procedure. Especially because I amdiabetic andon coumedin, necessitating many "sticks" on onehand and arm.Rosemary Quote
