Guest guest
Dear Ladies, have any of you been on the hormonal treatment with the faslodex injection and did it work for you if you were? I was just put on it today so am just curious. Thank you. Guest guest
AWESOME! Dance like no one is watching!!!!!!!! Trisha -- got my biopsy results I went in this morning to have my biopsy sites checked since I had so much trouble with the bleeding and all on Tuesday. I am purple and yellow and swollen and they did a sonogram to check what was going on as far as blood, tissue irritation, etc.. I had 2 techs and a Dr. cringing at the looks at it if that gives you an idea of how lovely it is! Anyway, the Dr. got the results while I was there and everything is benign! It did not really sink in until later today (and I still keep thinking they are going to call and tell me they missed something.....) as this has been a really rough and scary 2 months and I think it is going to take awhile for my nerves to recover as this was the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me I think. I have been such a weenie thru it all and cannot tell you how I am amazed at the strength and courage of the ladies on this board. Your compassion and strength is what helped me thru this. I will truly never look at breast cancer in the same way ever again. I hope each and every one of you get good news on your next round of test results. Guest guest
Hi Janet. It is starting to sink in how fortunate I am, but my biopsy sites are sure slow healing. That keeps it all very real still and I also have been wondering how some of the women on this site are doing, so though I am on special notices, I have been peeking in every day or so to check. (like you Ruth!). Though my biopsies came back benign, this has definitely been a life-changing event for me. > > Wonderful news, Barb. So glad you don't have to be on this website except if you want to. That does take some time to sink in. I know when I was told it was cancerous it didn't seem real until I had the lumpectomy three weeks later. And even then I had to tell myself, 'You really, really have cancer. Guest guest
How long has it been since your biopsy? Mine healed quickly as they used a needle to get the info. Sorry you are having a bad time. I will pray for you too. Janet/WA

I ended up having to go back in later that day as I started bleeding (also did right afterwards, quite a bit). They did a re-check on Friday along with another sonogram to check the tissue. I'm better, but still not back to " normal " , still quite bruised, somewhat swollen, a couple of hard areas and the actual site is not pretty. Each day is a bit better, but it's still very painful and I have to watch what I'm doing. In fact, right now I am putting off my shower because I know how much it is going to hurt! I know, I'm a wimp! I'm using heat on it also.
Guest guest
Of course I'm around - I can't leave you without a hand after you were there for me! I watched the needles to - on the screen. I was trying to detach from the actual needles! I think it didn't help that the 2 biopsies were so close together and they took the 1 out completely, then put the clip in. I did use ice and kept rotating them out - did that Tuesday until Friday when they told me to switch to heat. My entire breast was purple (bruised) then yellow and purple. It is less colorful now but I did have a lovely greenish bruising around the outside yesterday, so it was a real rainbow. Ugh.....They were both behind my areola though and I don't think that helped. I'm glad at least the site has not given you much trouble - you have enough to deal with without having to deal with a problem with that too. I too wish your results were different. I'll be poking my head in to check on things bosom buddy! (((hugs))) > > > > Hi Janet. It is starting to sink in how fortunate I am, but my > > biopsy sites are sure slow healing. Guest guest
Well it was black and blue for about a month-then I had the surgery. Sore the first couple of days. The key is to put ice every other hour for 8 hours first day 30 minutes at a time for the swelling. SharonAZKope@... wrote: Do you bruise and experience a lot of pain after a biopsy? Guest guest
Alyssa Why the heat? My doctor gave me a small gel pack that was frozen to put in my bra. And after surgery they gave me a longer one to cover the two sites (1 for lumps & 1 for sentinel lymph node.) So I keep the extras frozen and ready to use. You can also use frozen peas or anything like that. Just be sure to have one layer of material between you and the site. And you are NOT a wimp.............we all feel that way. My dr also used the ultrasound to guide the needle biopsy and when he got the first one I was pleased to hear him say, "Got it!' Right where he needed to be. Guest guest
I had a surgical biopsy and no bruising or pain - just sore for a few hours after the procedure, took a couple tylenols, that was all. There must be different kinds of biopsies with different results, plus the fact that each person reacts differently. Just trying to spare unnecessary fear to the women facing a biopsy :-) Iza I didn't bruise or have pain after my biopsy.
