I had my surgery with Dr. Boyd in Salem, Oregon on April 24. And, like

Gronbach

can only sing his praises. Big time.

I was 50% weight bearing on crutches from the moment I got out of bed in the

hospital the day after the surgery. At first, determining what 50% was, was a

little scarey and inexact. Now, it's what I do. The PT in the hospital gave me

five standing exercises to do 3 - 4 times a day - or I can do a version of them

in bed.

My local OS removed the staples. My wound is healing remarkably well. I feel

great and already know my range of motion will far exceed my dreams. I will see

Dr. Boyd three weeks post-op. And then I'll know more. I'm still tired a lot -

but can now sit at the computer for more than 5 minutes.

Thanks to everyone on this board for posting incredible info and sharing

experieces.

Michele

Glad to hear things went so well. I was going to try and get down there to

say hello, but ended up with a nasty bug (still coughing and gagging a

lot), so stayed home.
