Guest guest
Dear Marrika, Try Designer Whey protein shakes and milk. At this point, it may be hard for you to eat a lot, but you should be able to sip all day long. If you sip on milk and protein shakes (instead of water) throughout the day, you should be able to get in quite a bit of extra calories. It is still hard for me to eat a lot of chicken. I do manage to eat a lot of eggs and cheese every day. I eat two hard-boiled eggs every day in addition to egg white/cheddar omelettes. Are you able to eat cheese? Eating cheese would help keep your calorie and protein intake up. Good luck, Shoshannah
Guest guest
Marrika, Do not go with what your Doc says. See your RNY nutritionist! That is way too much food to put in your new tummy! If you don't have one, my first question is, were you maintaining BEFORE you got pregnant, or still losing? If you were maintaining, just add 2-3 additional small meals or snacks for about 300 extra calories a day. If you were losing and are underweight (which is the only thing I can think of for him to tell you this), you may want to add more calories just to be safe, maybe something a little higher in fat? The Docs who are unknowledgeable in WLS will tell you all kinds of BS... Shirley
