Hmmmm.....not sure I could be that disciplined. Also don't know how I would

make out making 2 seperate meals for myself and the rest of my family. I

think I like things with sugar and refined wheat. HA! Go figure....

Thanks for the tips, though. Sounds like you're doing wonderfully. Good for

you!!

Ok! Would you like to write up this method that Dr March recommends and post it on the site under files?

Hi ,

How many times have you had surgery, and why more than once? I am new at

this, my surgery is next week (18th), upper and lower for an open bite.

Jaclyn.........Im new here myself but my only advice to you would be to do it

now........Ive waited until we have been disappointed with MANY meds and my son

is now almost 9 yrs old and I think it is harder as they get older. It is

difficult at times but so worth it when you think of what the outcome will be.

Believe me, it is much easier than seeing my son on the meds and seeing him

change into something hes not. He has only been on the diet for two weeks now

but boy do I see a difference in his mood. He is very happy and playful. For

me its worth it. Best of luck!......Tammy

Mik sees Dr Holmes as well for the same reasons that you do. Dr

Puri was out of the country at the time. So she sees Dr Puri for

the diet and Dr Holmes for the general stuff. Both are great I

think. You will be in the hospital for 4 days -- admitted Tuesday

and released Friday morning/afternoon if everything goes well. I

don't have experience with the g tube aspect of it, but I think the

hardest thing for me was to get over the fact that I couldn't just

give her some cookies or a cracker like I used to. Planning the

meals and measuring them out aren't 'hard', but they are rough to

get used to -- for me anyway. I think in the beginning -- while we

were in the hospital -- just knowing my baby was starving was

tough. Luckily, she went into ketosis really quick so she didn't

have to fast all that long. But anyway, if you have any other

questions, you can email me directly at mommy2mikaela@....

I'll be happy to answer any questions. Where are you from that you

have to come to Louisville?

Shari

> Tevors doctor is Dr.Holmes. When we went to louisville the first

time we went to see the doctor u mentioned but Dr.Holmes was on call

so we got him. How long did u all have to stay in the hospital? How

hard was it in the begining?

> Thanks for the help. I hope to hear from u soon.

That's depends on why you are depressed and if you are getting treatment for

it. Not knowing either of those, I really couldn't say. I CAN tell you that

the surgery will NOT take your depression away. Good luck and I hope you get

help if you aren't already.
