Hi Crystal,

Welcome to the group! Your story sounds so similar to mine. I also

had a mc (well, a few) and then had an ep in Sept. like you (my due

date was April 28th). Also like you, metho was really slow to work

on me. My baby continued to grow too (tripled in size). I also had

to have another round of shots.

I was chemically pregnant (by HCG) from Sept. until February. I'm

sure you can relate to the agonizing wait I had. And, finally, I

also miraculously didn't lose a tube and am ttc just starting this

month. Boy, we sure have a lot in common.

Did you have an HSG test yet? You might find that it gives you piece

of mind when contemplating ttc again.

hey. We sure do have a lot in common. I am sorry for your losses. And I

wish you very much luck this month. Maybe by this time next month, we will

both be pg again. (in our uterus-and stay there) Yes, I can relate to

carrying your child that long and knowing that you arent taking it home with

you. It just isnt right. Did you get real sick with the second shot of

metho?? It gave me horrible pains. I had to sit down. It was worse than

labor pains. It may not have been the shot that caused it. I havent had a

hsg. Did you?? How did it go ??? I just ask my dr. about it last week when

I told him that I was finally going to ttc again this month. But he said he

didnt suggest that I have one. He told me to just call as soon as I found

out that I was pg. Oh and he had to throw in that an hsg wouldnt keep me

from having a ep, because either way I had a 15-30 percent chance. (how nice

of him to remind me.) He usually a wonderful guy, but he must have been

having a ruff day. oh, well, thanks for the welcome. write me back. Im

glad we can relate to each other.

Hey Crystal,

Boy--those odds (15-30%) that the dr gave you sound so scary. I've

seen so many women get pg in this group during the ;sdy two months

that I've got to believe the odds are better.

I did have an HSG about 3 1/2 weeks ago. A few weeks before I was

told I had a " mass " in my tube left over from the ep. This could be

seen on U/S. Anyway, I went into the HSG thinking that I have a

blockage and was just hoping that my other tube was okay. As it

turns out, both my tubes are clear. I was shocked. But the dr did

say that my ep tube was a little less open than the other tube.

I think your dr has a point with the HSG. Although it did give me

piece of mind, I have heard of women still having another ep, even

when their HSGs say they are clear. It's a sketchy science.

I didn't get sick at all from the metho. Minor cramps is all. I was

told that I would likely feel severe pain a week after the shots--but

I never did. Supposedly, that kind of pain is the dissolving of the

embryo--and our's sure took their own sweet time. I'm sorry to hear

your side effects were so painful.

Question for you--how high did your HCG get before you had metho and

how far along were you? I was at my 7 1/2 week U/S when the saw it

and my HCG was 20,000. My HCG had doubled normally up to that

point. I think my high level might be why it took me so long to get

down to a negative HCG--so I was curious if your's was high too.

I've heard the term " persistent ectopic " used on other sites to

describe what we went through. An ectopic that just keeps going and

going and going.

I hope you are right and we both turn up pg next month. I have to

say, after all the waiting and frustration, that we deserve it big-

time.

Have a good day,

The doctor said it was according to which statistics you read. I thought

that was a little much myself.

And I dont remember how high my hcg level got. it wasnt near as high as

yours. I didnt find out until my 8 week u/s also. when they done my u/s

they couldnt find a sac which led them to believe it was ep. so after more

blood work and such, they found it in my left tube. It wasnt visible on u/s

until several weeks later. Then they saw my tube swollen and abnormally

shaped. So I was treated with metho.

And good luck to you also.
