Hi folks!

This is my first attempt at getting some attention here.

Yes, I'm aware that the primary focus here is on addiction and

recovery, which I have a vested intrest in. I also see some very

good and useful information on cult awareness, and mind

control tactics. In my own life, I've seen a situation arise recently

where two of my very close friends (who are both AA'ers

incidentally) have joined a " Women's Empowerment Group. "

This is a euphemism for PYRAMID SCAM!

The way the group operates is that each member puts in $5,000,

and receives $40,000 back after a period of time. Of couse, at

some point the number of willing participants dries up and most

of them just get ripped off, furthermore it is illegal. I attempted to

talk to them about it, but just as you might expect - they will not

hear logic or common sense.

I've done some searching for mind control tactics used by

pyramid scam organizations, and the closest I've come is

Amway and other MLM's, also spme public warnings about them

from police departments, Better Business Beareau, and the like.

I was wondering if anyone here might have some good

information on these types of groups.

Devin
