My BP monitor is a Lifesource Model UA-767. It is a digital reader and I

find it very accurate.

Hope this helps!

The most accurate ones are the ordinary stethoscope and cuff, but you have

to learn how to use it.

The electronic machines are pretty good for keeping overall track of what

you BP is doing, but, they do have one weakness. They can be wildly

inaccurate if your heartbeat is irregular, and, if you have a lot of fat on

your upper arm, or if you just happen to have a brachial artery that is very

deep, the machine might not be able to reliably pick up the oscillations of

that artery. The result is very inaccurate measurements. These machines

don't actually detect sound of the blood going through, they only detect

oscillations. That being said, they are pretty good for most people.

I've had 4 brands over the past 15 years. My current one is an OMRON, and

that's the brand I would recommend without reservation.

By the way, if you do get an electronic BP machine, spend a bit more and get

a self-inflating model, rather than one that you have to pump up manually.

You won't regret it. These machines do eat batteries if you use them a lot.

You might want to get one that can use an AC adapter.

I bought an automatic one from my local pharmacy, Walgreens, it cost

about $60 but it is sooo worth it.

I would add one point to Pierre's response, get the ones that go over your

arm above the elbow, not the wrist ones. The wrist ones are notoriously

inaccurate. The other recommendation I would give is to take it 2-3 times and

average

the result to be more reliable.
