Guest guest
I just received a email from Kris sister confirming your message. She passed away on the 6th of October. Kris, I know your upthere still watching over us and I want you to know you will never be forgotten. Your valuable advise helped me so many times. You were one remarkable lady. I know everyone on our site has been worried about Kris. Unfortunately, it's what we feared. I thought everyone would want to know. Deb ----------------------- [colon-cancer] KrisDVM has passed away Date: Thu, October 21, 2004 9:02 pm To: colon-cancer -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am sorry to tell you that Kris passed away on October 6, 2004. She wrote in a letter that I found after her death to: " Please write a note on the Yahoo support site thanking everyone for the support they provided. Tell them that I was disabled for a short length of time due to metastasis to the duodenum obstructing my bile duct. " As her sister, I can tell you more than that. Kris was an amazingly positive, energetic, kind person. She was also an accomplished veterinarian. During her journey with cancer she had an incredible spirit that allowed her to sail through her surgeries and chemotherapy treatments. Only when she went off oxaliplatin for a short time last spring, because of some bleeding due to radiation damage to the bladder (note: there was no tumor found there), did the tumor metastases in the liver/bile duct/duodenum seem to progress. Unfortunately neither Erbitux nor Avastin plus oxaliplatin was able to shrink the tumor. Her chemotherapy treatments stopped on September 24, 2004. She had been on TPN for about a month because of an inability to eat very much but other than that she had led a very normal life. She often mentioned the support group and spoke of many of you as though you were all close friends. You all meant a great deal to her. Thank you, Karla
Guest guest
I am so saddened by this news. Kris was a wonderfully caring person and must have been an extraordinary veterinarian. May you find comfort in the goodness of her life. Sharon > I need to pass along this very sad news. I received this message from > another support group. Guest guest
Please accept my sympathies for the loss of your sister and may God grant you much needed strength in the days ahead. Remember, she has only passed through another door and her spirit and love will always be with you. Monika > I need to pass along this very sad news.
