Hello Joe,

Unfortunately, I had a recurrence to the omentum, which was

surgically removed June, 2004. The ct scans indicated an " enlarged

lymph node " , Which turned out to be the omentum recurrence. From

what I have been told, better in the omentum than lymph nodes.

I think the only way to be sure what is going on is to have a

laporacope " look see " done, which I would highy suggest.

I wish you the best!

The plan is to monitor CEA for a while and if it doesn't drop or

continues to rise, we'll aspirate some fluid and do a cytology

report. If CC is there, I may try direct injection of 5-FU or try

radiation through AU-192 isotope. Hopefully it is just a glitch in

the process and not a real issue.

Of course, a laparoscopy is a possiblity, but I perfer to try less

invasive methods first. By the way, my colon resection was all done

through the scope. I had an amazing surgeon.

Thanks for the encouragenment.

Joe, I wish I could provide you with more information about this but

I can't. As you already know, I'm sure you'll have answers pretty

soon. I'm just glad that you've got an oncologist who is on top of

things and acted quickly. With this damn disease, the sooner, the

better. Hang in there.

Rick,

You had a surgeon who was willing to remove a lymph node? That is

amazing. I have been trying to find a surgeon willing to remove two

lymph nodes from my sister, but no one is willing to operate. Would

you mind writing me off-line and let me know the name and location

of that surgeon. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.
