Guest guest
How are you dosing HC? Sea salt is wonderful but the SUGAR with it in the evenings especially is not. Honey is a form od=f sugar and will cause insulin spikes and then hypoglycemai which si ALOT worse when you have low cortisol. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Prior to the ramp up, I was just doing 7.5 MG in the AM. To try to follow the ramp up routine, I began 5.0 MG AM, 2.5 MG mid day and 2.5 MG afternoon and that was for 2 days. Yesterday (day 3) was unique since I woke up so shaky, I tried an extra dose of 2.5 MG. Did I do this incorrect? It was this morning I took the sea salt to see if it would take the edge off. I usually only have it in my electolyte drink after I run or work out on the machine. Yesterdays late run is rare - usually first thing or early afternoon (when my 3 yo is napping!). Thank you! Did I do this incorrect?<< Because you were already adapted to the 7.5 in the monring you should have started higher than you did on the ramp up schedule. I would suggest tonight to take 2.5mg and a protein snak AT bedtime. Tomorrow I would start a new schedule like this 7.5 - 5 - 2.5 and a bedtime 2.5 I realize this is a jump but I htink you will do better this way. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Val, Would going from 7.5 MG to 17.0 MG HC in 5 days be too quick of an increase? 7.5 (taking regularly for months) 10.0 (+2.5 MG increase for 2 days) 12.5 (+2.5 MG increase for 1 day) 17.0 (+5.0 MG increase) Tina > > >>Prior to the ramp up, I was just doing 7.5 MG in the AM. Guest guest
It is a bit fast but all depends on how much thyroid is floating in your blood waiting for the cortiosl to arrive. THAT is the whole purpose of raising cortis slowly to avoid a thyroid dump. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Is there any way to tell that by how I feel or my temperature, whether or not my thryoid will dump? though I am not sure what that even means! I am so new at this! And I was incorrect in my calculation, I will have 2 days at 12.5 MG before going to 17.5 MG. Will that be ok? Thank you Tina > > It is a bit fast but all depends on how much thyroid is floating in your > blood waiting for the cortiosl to arrive. Guest guest
I forgot to mention that my temperatures have gone down a few points since I started increasing cortisol. Is that to be expected? 97.7, 97.8, 97.8 Tina > > > > It is a bit fast but all depends on how much thyroid is floating in > your > > blood waiting for the cortiosl to arrive. SYmptoms aer WAY too much crossover to know what isd goingon wit adrneas and thyroid. What was your last Free T3 level and are you on the same thyroid as then? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Thanks Val. I called and asked my doctor to send me the results of my T3 and the rest but haven't gotten them yet. Is there another way that I can test for that without going to the doctor? Guest guest
Hi Val, You asked: What was your last Free T3 level and are you on the same thyroid as then? I don't see that on the results from testing a year ago so I called to see if I could get those from the doctor. At the time (July 06) My TSH was 1.938 and Free T4 was low at 0.79. Cortisol level was low at 10.5 but they have had me on 5.0 - 7.5 mg HC since then so maybe higher now. Does that help at all? I was wondering if there is a way to get my thyroid tested again without going through my doctor (he is expensive). Do they have independent labs that can test you without an Rx? I have been on only AT for a year and only at 2 of the 0.5 gr (I think 30 mg) ones. Tried going higher but had increased heart rate. Is that because the cortisol was too low? You have been a wealth of information. I can't thank you enough. Tina > > >>Thanks Val. I called and asked my doctor to send me > the results of my T3 and the rest but haven't gotten > them yet.
