Okay, , I went back and read your original post (8 month update). It really doesn't sound like you are eating too much. Remember, six ounces chewed up isn't the same as six ounces on your plate. Chewing really compacts the food. If you want to try an experiment, put the six ounces of food in a blender with a teaspoon of water and see what you're left with after you whirl it up.

And as for your weight loss slowing down, this is really really common after six months. I have heard from many people that you have to start working harder at it, at six months and beyond. For me, it was a good reason to join Curves. ;-)

Your carb cravings are being fed (pun intended) by those occasional crackers. For me, having protein shakes (2 or 3 a day at least) has been the key to slowing down the carb monster. Vitalady, Curran, says you should do protein shakes in 30 gram increments until your carb cravings abate. In other words, start with two or three and work up from there, a few hours apart. I know, she sells protein, but she has lost 150ish pounds and kept it off for 8 years. If what she suggests doesn't work for me, I don't do it. But this is a BIGGIE. Have you thought about bringing protein shakes to work? I have a shaker cup and I just put in 1-1/2 scoops of protein power (my favorite is Champion Pure Whey Stack in chocolate). Then when I get to work (or wherever) I just add water. I even have one of those baby formula powder dispensers with the compartments (got it for a few bucks at WalMart; Target has them too). I can put 1-1/2 scoops in each compartment and then dump one serving into the shaker cup. I got the shaker cup through Vitalady, but any container with a good water-tight seal will do. I just shake up the powder and water right there in the cup, and drink it.

I know I sound like a Vitalady commercial, but I really trust her and appreciate her input into the weight loss community. She's an active part of several yahoo groups, and she has a lot of insight.

Try the extra shakes for a few days and see if it helps!

Is it me.......

Ok Ive posted asking for advice on snacking and how much we should be eating at 8 months....and havent received any replies.Possible reasons???1. People are just too busy.2. No one else has this problem, they follow the program perfectly.3. Everyone is pre op and so dont have any advice.4. Everyone is having this problem and dont have any advice.5. from vitalady. I thought doing only one shake was enough especially

since Kaiser richmond doesnt support them...but maybe thats what my

body needs right now. thank you.

That was great advise. I'm not , but thank you anyway. This sounds like something I could definately live with.
