Hi Laurel,

I hope things go well with your drs appointment, i am sort of getting butterflies in my tummy..........I have my first kasier appt on friday and it is to establish him as my internist and to tell him that i was in the process of applying for weight loss surgery with my last insurance but that my insurance changed April 1st. I know that i meet the criteria for the BMI for Kaiser but I really only know of one confirmed co morbidity that i have, so i just keep hoping and praying everyday that somehow that a referral will be made and that I get approved. I am also going to relate to him that i was going to be tested for sleep apnea but that didnt happen in my time frame from one insurance to the other. I will hope and pray for you and hope you will do the same for me. My birthday is in November and I am hoping that by then I am post op and on the other side ! Keep up your good work and determination as will i ! To us ! and to all of us !

I have my appt w/my pcp tomorrow and hope I won't have any trouble convincing him this is the right course for me. I have thought it thru, have a BMI of 53, am signed up for the 5 wk

course, and have started exercising. Hopefully that will convince him that I'm serious and know what I'm getting into. I would love to have my surgery for my birthday in September. I turn 50 and I think this would be a great start to the second half of my life.LaurelColleen

Thanks, Colleen. Is your appt this Friday (tomorrow) or next? If it is

this Friday we will be able to compare notes right after our appts. I

think mine is at 3. Here's hoping! I have sleep apnea, GERD,

arthritis, and a BMI of 53.5

I almost shot myself in the foot. I was sure my appt was at 3 but I

tried last night to check the time on-line and the website was down,

then I called in at 10 this morning to confirm- My appt was at 9:40! I

almost bawled. I left a message for my Dr and he will fit me in at 4.

I am soooo grateful! I remade the appt but couldn't get in until 4/26

so I am really glad he is willing to fit me in. I'll let you know this

evening how it went. I did some soul searching to make sure that I

hadn't subconsciously sabotaged myself and have decided it was an honest

brain fart.
