Hey all,

I was checkig KP online for members and found that they had booked

me into a Bariatrics orientation for April 6 in Richmond (7am) I'm

in Sacramento so I will go down night before to play it safe. When

will I see a Dr.? Will this be after the orientation at a later

date? Any reccomendations for hotel near hospital? I am getting so

excited and am ready to commit to do whatever the Dr. wants to get

this surgery, I have waited so long and am so thankful that I got

approved! Thanks to this group you are all so kind and knowledgable.

Hugs, Vickie

Greetings,

I recently met with Dr. Baggs and then went to orientation in

Richmond. I was the only patient at the orientation who had seen a

dr. as they have changed the process of 1st - orientation, 2nd - dr.

consult. I think this is to be clear about expectations and

commitments on our part before investing a doctor's time. They had a

weigh in to set our 10% goal. They do have some 11:00 am

orientation appts. You may want to call and leave a message on the

tape and ask if there are any appointments available. They may even

have earlier appts. than the date you were initially assigned.

Vickie,

I saw Dr. Baggs first, which I feel very lucky. I am hoping this speeds things up some for me. I have orientation on March 18th. I have made an appt with at that time also since I plan on having my weight off within 5 pounds of my goal. So I am hoping surgery will be scheduled ( I have 11 pounds more to lose, ugh!). Here is where I am staying the night before: 5 to 7 mintues away at the Quality Inn. It is at 915 Cutting Blvd, Canal exit off of I580 in Richmond. They have a special right now at $69.00. Phone #. I don't know anything about the Quality Inn, except that I have stayed in them before and they are ok.

Hope this helps.

Hi Vickie,

I'm in Sacramento as well and have been searching for local buddies. I have my referral appointment on March 8th so I'm just a little ways behind you. I live in the Arden area, not far from the Expo.
