Guest guest
: I had my surgery done at Pacific Bariatrics on July 3rd. I go this afternoon for my 6 month check up - they fly up to Sacramento once a month to do their seminars and to check on their patients. in Vacaville About myself> > > Jen requested more info about myself. Guest guest
Thanks, . Yes, the Vallejo Support Group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7-9 p.m. We meet in the Solarium West on the 3rd floor of the hospital building. This is a peer-led support group and not sponsored by Kaiser so is open to all, no matter what healthplan, who are considering, have had or are going to have weight loss surgery. Also, please encourage your support person(s) to come as well (spouse, significant other, friend, child, etc.). Hugs, Pat B. About myself Jen requested more info about myself. So here you all go! I am 35 and married 5 years. Live in Napa and work fulltime for Healthnet of all places. But I am in mental health side of the industry not medical. I was diagnosed with diabetes three years ago. Last summer when I was having my yearly physical it was discovered I have high blood pressure. My PCP gave me 6 months to loose 30 lbs and an excercise routine. I lost 50 and he was very happy. Then I gained back some of it at the time of my appt last wed. He wasn't happy about that and about my blood pressure still being so high. I have yo yo dieted my entire adult life so he can see the writing on the wall for me. So he told me about this surgery and he wants me to do it. He put me on bp meds too and I have a follow appt with him this Wed as well as that is when I tell him I want the surgery. I told my husband and he collapsed on the spot. Literally fell to his knees in front of me. His dad was a life time patient of Kaiser in Washington. He died from complications to diabetes 3 years ago. SO to him Kaiser is evil. He doesn't see that Kaiser extended his dad's life by 8 years! So I really need to find him a good support group that will make him feel confident about me using Kaiser. I myself have never had a bad experience with Kaiser, and I have belonged to the family for 13 years now. I was more anxious and freaked out about being cut into. Than the care I will get. >From reading what everyone has been through here I feel like I found my home! I feel so inspired and excited to get my journey started. Guest guest
Can you tell me about their seminars? I guess I missed this month's but I'm here in Sacramento. Did you have your surgery in Sacramento or where did you have to go? Where are the seminars held? I'm really new to this--just decided during the holidays to pursue gathering information and start the ball rolling. I don't see my M.D. for three weeks.
