Guest guest
I'm about to finish a round - last dose about to wear off. I increased my DMSA dose from 25mg to 40mg for the last 24 hours. I didn't think this through carefully - impulsive decision. Would it have been better to wait and do an entire round at the higher dose? I'm not sure. Did I increase too much at a time? Possibly. I believe I will be okay. I'm fairly convinced by my experience so far that DMSA is not so much a problem for me, at least not at this dose. I've used 25 mg for 4 rounds now and I've tinkered the ALA dose to a comfortable 8 mg. The ALA seems to be the troublesome chelator for me. If I increase the DMSA dose, I figure I will be able to increase the ALA. Interesting improvement this round is that I slept fairly well even though I'm dosing every 3 hr. Also, I was able to go 5 days for the first time. Progress. --

Possibly. > > ----, I'm a little behind on messages, so not sure if you gave an update, but how have you felt now after finishing this round on a higher dose?-------Jackie T. Thanks for asking. I'm doing okay, but I'm going to take a good ten days or more off before chelating again. I think my adrenals are getting worn down by chelating too often. I feel so blurry eyed some days I don't feel safe to leave the house. And I'm peeing like a fountain - every hour at least. Also, I get dizzy after my evening meal (in the past, this was an adrenal symptom for me). Last night was very bad, thought I would pass out. My husband was going to take me to the hospital, but I rallied. Was *much* better today, but tonight very dizzy and blurry again. I'm experimenting with the idea that adrenal fatigue is in part due to suppressed rage, so trying to express some rage. Seems to help, but mine is so suppressed it's hard to get in touch with it. I'm doing adrenal support supplements, but not cortisol treatment. I've resisted that so far and not ready to take the plunge. I have a terrible time detoxing hormones (got very toxic on oral contraceptives a few years ago). I read that all hormones are detoxed by the same liver pathway so afraid to try them. > > > I believe I will be okay. My gut feeling for myself is that I have plenty of hg to mop up in my body before I start trying to get it out of my brain, so I'm not in any hurry to try to add it. Can others with experience with this share when and how it went when they added ALA?-------Thanks! Jackie T> I don't feel the DMSA has much effect anymore (by itself) at the 25 mg dose. I do feel things happening when I add the ALA. I want to include a bit of ALA since it is so helpful for the liver by increasing antioxidant levels and glutathione. It seems okay at the 8mg level - I just can't go higher than that. I feel so good during rounds at my current dosage that I don't think the dosage is the problem. It's only off rounds that I feel lousy, so I think I'm doing it too often and stressing my adrenals. Hmm - my logic is a bit off, isn't it. I was feeling a bit alone, so thanks for replying. Guest guest
Hi , I deleted some of the original text because it was getting so long. -------Jackie t. I don't feel the DMSA has much effect anymore (by itself) at the 25 mg dose. I do feel things happening when I add the ALA. I want to include a bit of ALA since it is so helpful for the liver by increasing antioxidant levels and glutathione. It seems okay at the 8mg level - I just can't go higher than that. -----So are you going to increase your DMSA next round but leave the ALA at 8mg?-------Jackie T. I feel so good during rounds at my current dosage that I don't think the dosage is the problem. It's only off rounds that I feel lousy, so I think I'm doing it too often and stressing my adrenals. Hmm - my logic is a bit off, isn't it. -----I think feeling good on rounds and lousy off rounds is pretty normal, and it's a sign that something is happening. I think chelation is stressful on the whole body, so you may have to experiment with how much time off you need in between. It can be tough to figure this all out.--------Jackie T> I was feeling a bit alone, so thanks for replying. How is your chelation going? -------I know the feeling, that's why these groups are great for support! And thanks for asking about my chelation. I am currently on my 5th round using 12.5mg of DMSA every 3 to 3-1/2 hours, and this is my 7th day, my longest round yet! It is going well, but I am starting to get quite tired and will probably end it today so I can get a full night's sleep. I think I am definitely ready to up my dose on my next round, and will try 25mg next time. I haven't decided when I will add ALA yet. I could certainly use the benefits of it raising glutathione and recycling antioxidants. Always a little nervous about adding something new.---Jackie T> -- > >
