Guest guest
Hi Janet, Just to let you know that I am thinking about you all and hope that you get an answer to 's problem. Did have the Fontan and if so did they leave a fenestration open? It's just that they discussed this on the heart list I'm on a while ago and some of the kids were having their fenestraion (sp?) closed to increase their sats. Take care Elaine, mum to Elise (11yrs) & Jack (6yrs) CHaRGE Scotland
Guest guest
Hi Elaine, Thanks for the reply. Yes, he had the Fontan and they left a fenestration but it spontaneously closed on its own. He had an echo on Monday that showed his heart status to be stable with trivial differences from the echo done in 1/03. We are scheduled for an exercise test next week. When at rest, 's SAT's are 96-97%. After mild exercise, he dropped to 94% and then after having him walk down a hallway and up and down a flight of stairs he dropped to 88%. He was not happy at being made to walk. I am going to talk with the school next week about shortening his school day for the time being. We will be going to Perkins (if I ever get the paperwork copied!) for an evaluation in the spring. I just hope that we have some resolution to this. As I said, I need to find out what the problem is so that we can either fix it, or manage it. Janet
