Hi Jody,

Thanks for the response.

is almost 12 and has been doing well for the past 7 years with only

minor issues to be dealt with. His biggest issue is cardiac. He has pulmonary

atresia, complete AV canal, and Transposition of the great arteries.

Hi Janet,

Just to let you know that I am thinking about you all and hope that you get

an answer to 's problem. Did have the Fontan and if so did they

leave a fenestration open? It's just that they discussed this on the heart list

I'm on a while ago and some of the kids were having their fenestraion (sp?)

closed to increase their sats.

Take care

Hi Elaine,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, he had the Fontan and they left a fenestration but it spontaneously

closed on its own. He had an echo on Monday that showed his heart status to be

stable with trivial differences from the echo done in 1/03.

We are scheduled for an exercise test next week.

When at rest, 's SAT's are 96-97%. After mild exercise, he dropped to

94% and then after having him walk down a hallway and up and down a flight of

stairs he dropped to 88%. He was not happy at being made to walk.

I am going to talk with the school next week about shortening his school day

for the time being.

We will be going to Perkins (if I ever get the paperwork copied!) for an

evaluation in the spring.

I just hope that we have some resolution to this. As I said, I need to find

out what the problem is so that we can either fix it, or manage it.
