Guest guest Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 >>but my question is, " If it's mercury, why stress over diet? " Carol, I have traced ALL of my health problems (won't bore you with the gruesome details just now) back to mercury. Now I finally know how to chelate and I hope to eventually beat this thing. BUT, I have had HUGE improvements/progress with diet interventions. If I hadn't changed my diet I never ever would have been able to muster up the strength to make any progess whatsoever. So, I guess I'm saying that for some of us who have been dealing with these problems for so long, diet interventions are essential to help us to cope and to help us to heal. My daughter has the allergy/ sinus symptoms just like you. I'm very interested to hear of anything that you find that helps. I have removed all of the carpets from our house too, I try to battle the dust, and I won't allow any chemicals around. Right now I'm trying to figure out how I can help her with diet/supplement interventions. Best > First of all, I'm NOT talking about sinus infections. I have had a few of those over the years but mostly, I've lived with incredible aching pressure in my head. Like someone put a clamp over the nose and around the eyes, down the sides of the nose, into the cheeks etc. When it's really bad my whole face throbs. I've had CT scans which show NOTHING (as well as sinus xrays). This morning I just wanted to sleep but new I probably didn't need anymore sleep. It was the swelling around the eyes keeping me from being able to open them up. Sure enough, I forced myself to get up and I looked in the mirror. I've had this for 20+ years and it did follow my first sinus infection. I notice SLIGHT pressure changes and elevation changes. According to the book " Sinus Survival " , chronic sinusitis is w/o infection which is why antibiotics won't work. The drainage when there is any is CLEAR. Before the shots (which I did for 6 months) I had CHRONIC cough due to post nasal drip. Folks at my church > learned to recognize my cough w/o seeing me. That's pretty bad. LOL I've tried sinus flushing but it didn't do anything. There wasn't anythinig (other than pollen) to flush out. I get this year round and it really puts me into a fog and makes it hard to do anything. Thinking I was stirring up mercury (based on what I had read) I quit the diet. Then I read that this can also be a symptom of mercury. All of my current symptoms can be either candida or mercury. Question is, WHICH? I had read that getting rid of the mercury can help with any candida. I guess that's not quite true? I wasn't chelating at the time (and still not YET). I WAS on HIGH doses of raw garlic. I guess I could go back to a simple candida diet w/o the antifungals but my question is, " If it's mercury, why stress over diet? " Does this make sence? The only sure way I guess, would be to request another stool test from GSDL which is how it was discovered in the first place (although, knowing my health history and poor > diet (past tense) I knew it anyways). I've been on prescription antifungals twice, just not for very long. I'll have to go away and think about this. The gal that turned me on to researching mercury DID have her amalgams out and was spending TONS of money on chelation and diet. She did improve. That's why she suggested this to me. According to her, she had tried everything I had, and nothing worked till she had her amalgams out. Carol B > P.S. We NO LONGER have any carpet in our house and I have allergy covers on our bed pillows. Quote
