Guest guest
WOW Jeff! You won't be meeting with "the MAN" at the end of the month . .. . you ARE the man!!! :-D What an awesome journey you are on right now! Keep up the excellent progress and have fun on that cruise!! Hugs, Jen Jeff wrote: I am 18 days post op today and I am eating mashed food with no problem, creamed soup, no problem, eggs no problem….tonight I took some fake crab meat & some chicken out of a can w/water from Costco and mashed them with a fork added vegenase (fake mayo) ate that with no problem. Last night I ate the topping off a pizza (cheese only) I feel lucky as eggs, milk (in cream soup) have not affected me. I have had three cups of soup this week at three different restaurants for lunch..mostly it has been cream of broccoli, I guess it is the restaurants soup of choice. A small cup is all I can eat, and that is just fine with me. I have not felt hungry at all since surgery. I might add that I am eating only one meal a day right now…mostly at home I have jello, SF pudding, cottage cheese. I am also drinking my protein and getting close if not all of my recommended 50-60 grams a day. I am sharing this for what I don't know, but I feel better that I have. I have progress as quickly as my tummy has let me, I am staying on the mashed food diet for as long as possible, as I am not in a hurry to eat a burger Ha Ha…I would really like to loose all I can right now, and with the small amount of food I eat, that should be no problem. OH YEA another landmark, stopped by the store today and tried on a pair a pants, I had to keep trying on smaller pants until I found a pair that fit…I almost cried the pants that fit were a "48" and even that was not snug, it was just right. I had no idea !!! at my max I bought a 60 and wore mostly 56 – 58 What a ego boost…whew, excuse me while I swell up with emotion. I Only had surgery on the 27th of Jan. WOW a whole lot more than I expected, I have lost many more inches than pounds and for now that works for me. Next week I am taking my wife on a three day cruise to Ensenada for a little celebration and relaxation from all this WLS. Midnight Buffet….I don't think so…..and really I don't care. This trip is about relaxing, not gorging !!! We are not even going to get off the ship in Ensenada (we have been there before) we is just going to relax, maybe even just hit the spa (gym) and work it for a change… instead of stuffing ourselves we will IMPROVE ourselves. Well just a little chatter to update and being a member of several different recovering groups I know that sharing even the mundane helps…thanks for reading this, it has helped me just to share. OH by the way, that 2nd job interview has been pushed back until the week of the 23rd as the COO wont be back in LA until then….so I will have even another week of recuperating before I meet the MAN, and hopefully this nagging backache will subside by then. Best to you all, Jeff
Guest guest
I'm glad you shared your food journal, Jeff. It gave me an idea of what new post ops are eating. I'm 8 days out and I don't think I can stand another day of liquid! My surgeon told me to stay on the liquids until 2/20. But, I need to chew. I'm hungry. Not starving. I want food, not a lot of food. I need some texture or something. SO....the other night, after crying to my husband he said let me make you a scrambled egg....I had a teaspoon...had NO problems eating it and I was SO happy! I felt better! Physically and emotionally. whew! I feel really good since surgery. No complications. Minimal pain. I know it's only been 8 days but....I feel great! I think that's why it's hard for me to no want to eat food. I feel normal. Anyway, keep up the great work and have a blast on your cruise! ~ 2/6/04 > I am 18 days post op today and I am eating mashed food with no > problem, creamed soup, no problem, eggs no problem….tonight I took > some fake crab meat & some chicken out of a can w/water from Costco > and mashed them with a fork added vegenase (fake mayo) ate that with > no problem.
