Jewls,

Congressman Houghton's office called me back late this afternoon with

questions...I told them I thought the Clinton Bill passed spring of '99, ask

your aunt if she knows about when it passed, it will make their searching

much easier.

In the meantime I will try to find out who your state legislature is, do you

know what district you are in? You may want to call his/her office on

Monday and ask some questions.

Will keep searching for you though...and lets keep our fingers crossed that

the Clinton Bill WAS passed, and not passed over...I truly can't remember

for sure.

Tell your husband to ask his boss if they have North American Preferred out

there...they might, it is good coverage, even in the limited policies and

the prices are much more reasonable than Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Jewls,

Go to this page, you can find all of your representatives on this page,

start calling them on a daily basis over this insurance issue in the state

of Michigan...work on them to get changes made. Write letters to the editor

of your local papers about this topic, make a stink...one suggestion

though...if your not a registered voter, register first, even if you don't

exercise your right to vote, at least they think you will.

Elections are not to far off so you may find your representative more

willing to listen and to at the very least find you information, or pending

bills in state legislation. I have been involved in local politics for 7

years and raising a stink, an making phone calls, letters to the paper,

calls to local talk shows...they all make a difference...you never know how

many others are in the same boat you are in locally, if you all start doing

so...you may be the one to effect change :)

Good luck, anymore from my Congressonmans office and I will pass it on to

you.

Hi Jewls, I have some extra PTU that I don't take anymore. I changed

back to tap. I have a friend that is going down to the States. She could

mail it if it would be of any help you.

All,

This has been a great thread and brings to the head that we as a

group need to contact our representatives in Washington about the HMOs

that refuse to have qualified doctors to cover our illness. Look at what

you have written and then send an email to your Congressional and

Senatorial reps to complain. Have your friends and families write.

The only way this will ever change is to get the HMOs and regular

insurance companies back under control.
