Guest guest
I have heard that your experience is what we can all pretty much expect from ABI if the insurance company doesn't pay fully for the Vest. We had a weird experience ourselves. Our insurance company agreed to pay for a " lifetime rental " or something... leaving the copay issue kind of ambiguous -- especially since we never got any notification from them informing us of their decision. First we got a letter from ABI telling us to specify how much of the copay we " wanted " to pay -- which I found odd... and didn't know how to respond to. I mean, we have savings too, but it is for the kids college and our retirement. When I started asking questions about what criteria they would look at (ie our income, how much we have in the bank, 401(k), value of our equity in our house, etc) in making their decision about the appropriate level of our contribution, they stopped their inquiry about the copay we " owed " and never asked us for anything. That was months ago. My plan, though, if asked, is to offer some fair affordable monthly payment rather than a lump sum. I don't think very many families have the resources to pay for 1/2 of a machine that costs $16,000 at the drop of a hat. Good luck.
