Guest guest
Hi all, I've just been diagnosed with Type I diabetes. I am 54 yrs. old with no family history of diabetes. It has recently come to my attention that a medication called " Zyprexa " , prescribed for bi- polar disorder, has been found to cause pancreas damage and/or diabetes. Unfortunately, I took this drug for over a year. This little fact was with held from the list of possible side effects even though the manufacturer was aware of the possibilities. (Eli Lily). My question, does anyone have any further information regarding this. I'm still trying to get all this under control and using insulin 3 - 5 times a day. Also trying to learn all I can about the disease as it appears I am now going to have to learn to live with it. To say I'm a little scared and confused would be an under statement. Would appreciate any advice and information available. Thanks so much, Bonnie
