Guest guest
Thank you guys so much for your help.Everyday for the last 3 days I have had horrible readings, I've never been this high. The last two days I havent been below 160 at 1 hour. I know you say I need to relax but its really scary to me, that Im getting worse. Im going to call my doctor tomorrow and hopefully find a good endocrinologist, my last one was of NO help at all. I did have the blood test that determined I have an 85% chance of developing type 1 and I was curious, with type 1, are your morning fasting levels bad? or is it just food that throws things out of whack? I can really tell that they are high, my head starts to feel fuzzy, although my fasting levels are always ( so far) fine. Guest guest
Thanks for your info Vicki! Its good to know that they can atleast be controlled, I was a little worried about that. Yea the test was the GAD antibody, I guess the chances are more like 95% from what I just read in the Diabetes Association book. Is there any reason why my blood sugars could have jumped up so high from normal? I usually run about 125 at 1 hour and the last two days its been from 145-170. Thanks so much again! Guest guest
Vicki, I do wish the same, that they would start me on something now so I can preserve these cells and also because Im scared of the side effects. I can really feel when its too high because my head starts getting kinda " fuzzy " this isnt good is it? Its usually back down by two hours but its still scary~ I did talk to my OB ( who has been acting like my primary care dr.) and shes calling me back today to give me her advice and hopefully send me to someone different. The last endo was not really any help at all. As for the diet Im following, before I was only having about 20 carbs per meal, but now Im having to make it even lower. I've been eating alot of salads and proteins! ALOT of peanut butter I used to be able to just eat cereal really slowly and get good numbers but not anymore. So I have no idea what to eat for breakfast. Like you said, I pretty much have to cut them out completely, is this healthy? I thought carbs were essential to have a healthy diet? You did send me the info on LADA ( thank you!) although I havent been to the endo since I talked to you last because my levels were in good control. I will have to ask them about it when I go again,a nd hopefully that will be sooner then later. Thanks so much for your help and support vicki, I would love to talk to you if I go on insulin to get a better understanding of what might work best for me. Have a great day~ ~*In Loving Memory- Sierra Iris*~ http://www.angelfire.com/ky/meadowsgrove/Sierra.html ~*Meadows Grove*~ http://www.angelfire.com/ky/meadowsgrove
Guest guest
Thanks again Vicki for your recomendations! Today Ive started to cut out all starchy carbs and my level has been 95 and under all day. ( I do eat soy chips) I called my ob ( shes the one whos been dealing with my problem!) and she is giving me a suppliment that she wants me to try. I think its a mixture of vitamins and herbs~ Im up for trying it, hopefully it will be of some help! I think I am going to really try to limit starchy carbs though, its hard to change my ways of eating but I know its for the best. I'll keep you updated as to where Im going with all this!
