Guest guest
Hi Alison Thanks for your response. I have tried DMSA but it aggravated my allergies badly so I stopped it. I may give it another go but I am reluctant. UKD Dear UKD, I haven't started my chelating yet, but certainly have done the research. I will only start when I have purchased some DMSA. I'll chelate Cutler style. Responding to your email: have you considered DMSA? Which Cutler recommends for the adverse side effects you're having. I'm sure it will help from all the chatrooms I'm in. Guest guest
Hi Dagmar Thanks for your suggestion. I'll look into it. UKD I don't know anything about thyroid, but Owens on the sulfurstories list says that ALA cometes for transporters with biotin and pantothenic acid. This might mean if you use ALA your body doesn't get enough of those. My partner used to get quite unwell with ALA until he started to suppplement biotin and pantothenic acid. Guest guest
Hi TK Thank you for your response. I had the CDSA done by Great Smokies and it was negative for candida, however I had no good bacteria at all. That's despite the fact that I had been taking probiotics for several months. Regards UKD > > I have been doing chelation with ALA for almost two months. I notice > that on days when I take ALA (at the moment I'm taking 50 mg every 3 > hours 1 week on 1 week off) I feel worse. A lot of the symptoms > which I had had before I started T3 return and many others get > worse. They are e.g. almost constant migraines, extreme fatigue, > brain fog, muscle and bone pains, mood swings, vision difficulties > and many others. Is it normal? --- Yes these are normal side effects of chelating Hg. Also possibly candida side effects. Or does ALA (like e.g. calcium does) > interfere with the aborption of T3? Also even on days when I'm not > doing chelation I often feel worse than before (especially the first > two or three days after stopping ALA)? --- This is normal also for a lot of people. What kind of side effects are > normal with chelation with ALA only? --- A lot including the ones you mentioned above. > > Thank you for any help. --- You can try using the various supplements that help with chelation side effects and or using DMPS or DMSA to help reduce them. You may also want to check for GI pathogens like Candida and or treat for them at the same time with natural agents and with a good quality & quantity probiotic. Alison DMSA also has side effects -- IMO both ALA and DMSA will tend to cause " mercury symptoms " --- often things you had before. good wishes, Moria
