Guest guest
Tami, I'm sorry that you feel that it's stupid to see a pain psychologist (not the same as a regular psychologist hun). These are psychologists that are better able to help the person deal with their pain such as thru other treatment options. Every pain management dr is different hun. Some are more thorough than others and these are the good drs hun. This dr just wants to make sure that you have completely run out of other options before agreeing to do a procedure that could be too risky for you. Maybe for your friend with RSD the risk wasn't as great and that's why the dr she has was quicker to do it? Like I said it sounds to me like this dr is really concerned about your well-being knowing that this procedure is risky hun. But of course since it truly bothers you ask him about why the pain psychologist should be the one to clear why you need the procedure when you feel that you can't wait any longer. We are concerned about you hun and want you to get relief but to do it in a safe manner b/c of your history. Sounds like your dr is thinking the same way.
