when was your surgery? Does everyone have a drainage tube? What reason? Sorry

but I am researching this surgery.Trying to decide if its for me.

Me Again :)

I weight myself today and I have lost 15lbs so far :) I am very happy

with this. On Thursday I get to try my hand at a carnation instant

breakfast pack - crossing fingers that goes well - I am somewhat

tired today becuase I went to walmart and stocked up on some more

broth and jello - I drink more water than the juice. I cant wait to

get my dranage tube out on Monday - how does that feel by the way to

have it take out, I have a jackson pratt.

I also have a jackson pratt and my dr is taking mine out 7 days post-

op which is friday. I hear there is little or no pain at all. I

will post what it was like on Friday when I get back. My question

is... how long did your drain (i had an open rny) stay in? OHHH and

i feel like i have something growing inside me for all the noise my

new inners make..lol. Same thing for everyone else??

Kamela,

Sounds like you are doing great. The thought of broth gives me the

heebie jeebies, as I did that a lot, but you will be so happy when

you graduate to a next level. Keep the water intake up!

Keep us posted!

Lori/Kamela,

Congratulations, you're both on the losing side now. I had LAP RNY

on 7/18/03 and I did have a drain for 6 days post op. It didn't

hurt a bit coming out, I was shocked and happy about that. I was

lying down and I was talking with my surgeon, I knew she had clipped

the 2 stitches holding in my drain and then she said she was done.

I was like really, it's OUT? It didn't hurt a bit. So don't worry

about the drain, you'll be fine.

Lori. I also had a lot of activity occurring within my stomach.

This eventually slows down. I still have some activity happening

when I drink water and food, but I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post op and

I'm not sure it will disappear or maybe I'll just get use to it.

Maybe one of the post op's that have been out several months if not

years, can answer that question.

Take care!

Lori,

What Beth said is right; the stomach 'activity' does eventually go away.

If it starts to hurt too much, see if you can walk some as this seemed

to help me get rid of it. Even just up and down the street a time or two

helps. And drink your water! You don't want to get dehydrated for

anything!

The drain does not hurt being removed, Beth is right again. I had mine

out on my 1 week appt and it was just a little tug and bam it was gone.

You'll do fine.

Here's wishing luck to both you and Kamela. We're so glad you're back

with us and feeling fine! :-)
