Guest guest
Tonia: Hi! How long have you been on Methadone, and what is your dosage? I have been taking Methadone going on 4 years now. I SWEAR by it when it comes to the pain, I also take Dilaudid for the break-thru pain. Now all they have to do is find a real good drug for the burning pain, I have tried Neurotin, and had terrible side effects. I took it for over a year. Then I was Topomax, I had terrible bouts of not sweating, and it made the heat in my body to become alot worse. My doctor took me off this immediately, I didn't need anymore heat in my body. I did use ketamine, it was nice because it used to numb me, that was great! I hope your ear infection get alot better, I know they are no fun at all. Take care and good luck on the Methadone. I am taking 160 mgs, (40mg) tablets (4 times daily) plus Dilaudid for the break-thru pain. Methadone is best pain med I have taken so far, it last about 5 to 6 hours. This is great for a pain med. JanetTonia wrote: Well, I ended up having fun tonite. I've been feeling really crappy and all here for the past 2 months....dizziness, lightheaded...and a little bit of blood in my ear. I've just been passing it all off to the med changes and all of that. Well, tonite, the Dizziness and all got bad enough that I said enough and went to the Urgent Care. Luckily, the PA that was there tonite knows me, and knows that I'm on pain killers for the RSD and Fibro and whats going on and all. When he looked in my ear, he about freaked out! Both ears are full, but my left scared him! Severe Ear Infections. So, he told me that from now on, if I even start feeling crappy.....call and get an appt ASAP! He's seen me with ear infections like this before.....3 am, screaming and bawling from the pain. Well, once he looked at my ears, before he said anything to me, he looked at my chart to see what meds I was on! lol.....He said that with being on the Methadone and Lortabs, its no wonder I wasn't feeling any pain!!! Hey, at least I now know that the Methadone is working!!! If Something can make it to where I can't feel one of my well-known ear infections.....I LOVE IT! My whole family AND everyone in the Doctor's office and ER where my GP is at ALL know what I'm like when I have an ear infection....I've been suffering with them since I was a baby. To have one of the doctors that has seen me with one of the worst without pain meds, and then see me now when on pain meds tell me what he did..... I'm thinking that I may have finally found a pain killer that is going to help me get my life back to a point! Tonia and yup....I'm still not making any sense! lol....hopefully by next week, once the antibiotics have time to work, I'll start making sense again! ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here

Guest guest
Tonia, Glad to hear that the pain killers are working..... Another lesson though. We've really got to listen to our bodies. With the meds masking some symptoms while working on the pain, it's imperative that we take care of the rest of us. Feel better. Jo
