Guest guest
If you mean " nervous in your legs " as in it is hard to lie still, as if you need to move them, that is called " restless leg syndrome. " Potassium is reported to help with that. If you mean more of an itching/tingling/burning, then tha is probably the neuropathy. Guest guest
Insulin is always an option and for you it might be the way to go to a much lower A1c and reverse your neuropathy. Sometimes if you catch it early enough and institute tight control, it will reverse over time. As for the possibility of restless legs; quinine can help with that, perhaps magnesium (diabetics need extra mag) and calcium. I don't know if you can still get these minerals in Europe with the new rules about supplements. Quinine is available in quinine water, with fizzies here. Guest guest
Hi , I have foot issues too, and sometimes they are what you describe -- a sort of nervous energy at night that is almost unbearable. It may or may not be diabetes related, though it probably is as it lessened after I was diagnosed last year and started treatment. I had probably been running very high BG numbers for many years prior. Having an a1c below 7 is great and will help prevent any further complications, but it's even better if you can get it below six. Some of us take alpha lipoic acid and evening primrose oil to help with feet issues. I find it helps. I take sustained release ALA 300 mg three times a day and 500 mg EPO twice a day. When I took a vacation from these supplements, the foot issues got worse. HTH Stacey
