Guest guest
No, do the Low Carb thing. I know lots of people here in my town doing it and having results too. I just do not lose on it. After the Bernstien book and some experimenting, it is good for the BG's I am sure. I am not at all typical. I have very firm fat too, not much jiggle. I had a friend who looked like the Pilsbury Dough Boy kind of white bread and mashed potato fat. Mashed potatoes being her fav comfort food. I look healthy but fat and firm. Don't listen to me. Wonderful you lost the weight. That is what I want to do now. I just read in Bernstein's book that there is a food plan where we will lose and all the doctors have told me over the years that no fat people came from the camps in the war... I must not have found the right thing for this metabolism. I am exercising everyday too. I will keep searching. Any insights are welcome. And, how DID you lost the weight???? Guest guest
And their wrinkles after weight loss were appalling. G > > > Is this because of the sugar or just the weight loss? Thanks They did not have diabetes. I have lost weight, about half as much as they lost, and did not get those wrinkles. I would think it was the unhealthy foods they ate, many frozen dinners and the sugar foods too. When I did the South Beach for a few weeks last summer I got constant comments on my great skin. But, didn't lose lbs, maybe inches. I tried it again and no results at all that I could tell. No one else that I know losing their amount of weight looked so terrible. Those wrinkles were extreme. Guest guest
>I think you would not get very much to eat if you used the points for the >low carb foods. I am trying to do just that. My blood sugars are good---no >weight loss. W/W IS designed to be a low fat high carb diet, I think. I >feel quite confident in saying it IS a high carb plan. My instructor did >instruct us how to live on cheetos and twinkies if we wished. Just another example of YMMV, I guess. I do find the content/approach of W/W " meetings " to be inane (and sometimes appalling) so gave that up after a few but I get my best results on W/W . . . best (and easiest) bgs, best cholesterol counts and slow-but-steady weight loss besides. Or wrinkles that were there anyway but weight loss removed the " puffiness " /stretch that was concealing them. Sandy
