Apparently it's better to take this supplement when you have some food in the stomach as the article states that " absorption is dependent upon the presence of fat in the gastrointestional tract " Generally, it's recommended to take it in a oil based form for that reason, or to take it with another supplement like E or Evening primrose (which is when I take it) so that it is absorbed better. CoQ10 apparently has benefits outside the realm of the heart and as a cure for what statins do - it's also great for gums. I never knew this until recently, but it would help explain the dramatic change in the condition of my gums from February to August - so dramatic that the dentist asked about it. At the time, I didn't know about the effects of CoQ10, but I'll let him know in February when I'm back there again. I take 100 mg at bedtime, with my statin and a 500 mg evening primrose oil. It seems as if that would provide the fats that CoQ10 needs. Have you found a nice cheap source for it? I admit I haven't checked around yet. I remember that the Sams Club back I went to back in Indiana carried it. I forgot to check the local Sam's Club for it since I don't go there very often anymore.
