I take flax seed oil capsules twice a day for the omega 3. I don't know if tuna is your best bet, given the concentrations of mercury now being found in fish. I've heard that the one least affected is the wild (not farm-raised) salmon. I've also heard that flaxseed oil can go bad very quickly, even when kept in the refrigerator. sky

I guess my next question is, would be that be vegetarian as in eating just natural foods such as fruits and vegs, or do you have to get into the stuff like soy products and tofu and so on? I found a Dr. McDougall website and he swears vegan is the only healthful way to control diabetes but the food is weird.
Guest guest
, I eat a lot of salads. I also throw in avocado and toasted seeds or chickpeas (a few). I eat eggs which I also hard boil and throw into the salads. I'm still feeling my way with fruit but so far know I can eat strawberries, blueberries, and satsumas. Apples aren't good for me. Soy/tofu and I don't get along. I also have ibs which makes life a tad trickier. You don't have to get into things like that unless you want to. I swear by Quorn products. They are low in everything and versitile. You can find them in the freezer section of health food stores. I like the pieces, they take the flavor of whatever you cook with them. I stir fry and throw them in too. Or lightly saute them and chuck them on to the salad. You have to make sure that you get enough protein. To me being a vegetarian just means cutting down the dead flesh of an animal. It's not complicated. (my son is a meat eater and I cook for him ) Go to your local library and see what books they have to help you. > > Thank you, Carol.
