Possibly. Mercury toxicity affects the mineral transport, and such doses might not actually skew the results too much. I would go ahead with the hair test. If the selenium, iron, etc.. seem unusually high relative to the other minerals, you will be in a good position to ascertain why. Incidentally, iron is often contraindacated for those with mercury poisoning. It can make things worse instead of better.

Guest guest
I don't have the exact dates down, but something like late August - early October. > > Essentially the minerals he had me take were something like 505 and > > even 200% - 500% of the RDA of selenium, iron and some other > minerals. > > > > Am I right to assume that this would skew a hair test? > > --- Possibly, it may depend on exactly what you were taking and how > recently. - how long ago were you doing this ? > > > > > > And would it skew the values that are indicative of Mercury > toxicity? > > -- Possibly but you can still check for elevated metals regardless of > the minerals. > > TK > > > > > > Thanks, > > > > Steve
Guest guest
Hi , If you have screwed up mineral absorbtion from Hg toxicity it will not make any difference if you are supplementing or not as far as the hair analysis goes. If I remember correctly the hair needs to be taken very close to the scalp for accurite analysis.
