Guest guest
I'm back for a while.... I get too busy and need to change to read at the site, and then don't come here enough.... Well, i've been doing pretty good at controlling my diabetes with a low carb diet.... however i've developed kidney stones... before you blame the low carb diet.... i've had stones in the past..... prior to eating low carb.... However this time.... i'm making uric acid stones.... caused by a high meat protein intake.... so now... I'm supposed to control my diabetes and my kidney stone's with diet.... but the things i can eat for diabetes, are not the things i can eat with kidney stones..... for example with stones they talk about bakery items and rice, and pasta etc Anyone who has had to restrict both purines and carbs? I'd love to hear how they do it.
Guest guest
Hi, ...good to hear from you again. Sorry to hear about your problem, though. I don't have any answers, either, although I had a slightly similar problem with gout. However lucky for me, I only had one attack and I haven't had one since, although a low-purine diet (i.e. high carb) was also suggested. (I didn't do it). I don't remember -- do you take insulin? Because if you don't, this might be the time to start. At least you could eat the carbs and dose insulin for it. You'd have to watch portion size, though, to avoid weight gain.
