Guest guest
I have continued to have increased dishcarge since my past yeast infections that would never completely seem to clear up. All my trips to the doc had not come up with yeast though. But when I started getting what seemed to be an infection this time I kept checking it out with a mirror. A few years back I never even looked at my vulva. (When it aint' really broke, there's no need to look, ya know:) I definitely took note that it was the same discharge that I always have, just alot more of it. And when it is coming from the vaginal opening, it looks grayish white and sticky. Then it encrusts my vulva and perianal area. I have since read that yeast discharge can be gray/white and thick, but not necessarily cottage cheese in appearance. It definitely had something to do with infection, in my belief. I should find out tomorrow if I had a yeast infection or if nothing is wrong with me and it is in my head:) If it is a yeast infection, then I will know for sure that this discharge need not look like cottage cheese. It also raises the issue in my mind why I still have this discharge and still have itching and vv. I will wonder if I still have yeast issues also. ****OOOOHHHHHH, let me tell ya something. When I got this last infection or flare up, I was sitting on my couch with a bag of frozen peas on my vulva, but it was too cold. So I held it on the outside of my underwear. Sat there too long and this crappy discharge got my swollen up already irritated clitoris " glued to my underwear " which felt like it got ripped off when I moved and my underwear unstuck from there. It wasn't right for days after that. Every time I peed or moved or washed my clitoris just keep screaming " WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!!!!! " , and sending pain everwhere. It's healing from that trauma though. Word to the wise, if your undies get stuck like that, try not to just rip or peel them off already inflammed skin. In hindsight, I would have asked hubby who was at the sink to bring me some water to put on my underwear to wet the area some and unstick it. When it happened I just started bawling and I couldn't even move or talk for like 5 minutes cause it hurt so bad:) Will post test result tomorrow. I hope it is yeast and I am just not nuts. I am not putting anything else on the vulvar area, I will have no idea what to do if it is not yeast! > > Melinda, if you get a hint what causes yours I would sure like to hear about it and no, you are not telling too much. You are the only one I have seen on here that described it so well. That is what I have had for years and no one has come up with an answer for me. Some days are better than others but when it is bad it glues my body to my underwear. Painful pulling.-- in WA state >
Guest guest
I asked them this time specifically to check for everything. All my STD tests came back already neg. So if they checked std's I am hoping they listened to my request to be checked definitely for BV and yeast. I am not sure in the past if the doc's were ever checking for BV. > > Hi: > > I am pretty new to this group and may have missed the beginnng thread to this. When I have a grey, white sticky discharge is is always BV. Have you been tested for that? > > Sherri >
Guest guest
Yeah, I have read they can put some discharge into a solution and tell, but they never seem to feel the need to do that for some reason. They think they know everything by just looking. When I first had chronic yeast, that were actually confirmed by yeast cultures coming back with heavy yeast as the result, I would go in miserable and in burning swollen pain and they would say there was no sign of yeast and send me home. Then two days later I would have to go back in and complain to get a culture done. Then they would look and go " Oh, it does look like yeast " and the culture would come back positive. I wonder if I just knew it was coming on before they could see it. Now I just push for the tests. I have to wait for the doc to call to probe about the specific tests and culture results. > > Melinda, > > I think the BV test is a simple, in office, diagnostic test... I could be wrong, but whenever I was diagnosed with this, it was right away - during the appmt (in the office). Maybe there is a more thorough test that can be done, though... I don't know. Good luck. > >
