Everything that is done to increase the awareness of RSD is a good thing. I'll be interested in hearing how this all works out. barbaraamey73 wrote:

im amey and i want to put a booth up at OLD TOWNE FESTIVAL in burg,NJ. (Lehigh valley). I have all kinds of information packets comming. And im gunna make t-shirts. (my freinds a great tatoo artist to do shirt prints) bumper stickers, and balloons. I figure kids LOOOOVE balloons and the place is crawlin with kids and if i can get the kids there for a balloon i can get da parents to listen. And have pamphlets and buttons. and lil cards with wat stage 1 is. serve cold drinks too. We could do alot of good! BUT, i cant do it myself, im stage 3 and the heat kills me and i basically have to lay on my side at ALL times. But, i am DETERMINE to do this. Today i went to my regular dr and gave him some info. they made a bunch of copies and put them at each desk. I was happy then :) aint been in awhile. I figure if i talk to the rite people

i can get a shaded tree area rite where people HAVE to walk by. I know the plan of the festival pretty good. I have my husband and a couple freinds (1 of them w/rsd) to help also. I can have my husband and his freinds build it. WE CAN DO THIS!! I HAVE TO DO THIS! Im way too sick not too. and have had way too many dr's tell me stupid stuff not to do sumtin. Well everybody let me know what ya think??? Gentle hugs, amey

Amey,

Even though I live in Warren county too, I've never heard of the festival...

When is the festival? What could I do to help? It's difficult for me to allot much time, I own my own business, and have a ton of stuff going on in my life right now.

I admire your determination. Where are you getting info from? Have you contacted the rsda people to see if they have literature they could send you?

Hugs,

Jo

Amey,

I think it is a great idea. I think anything that we can do to be heard has to be a step in the right direction. There is so much running through my head that I want to do, but I have RSD all through my body, stage 3 also, and am still working full time. It's all I can do to keep my job - I have 600 unread e-mails that I have not been able to read after work because I hurt too bad. However, if there is anything I can do, I'm good at anything with computers, I will try to find a way to help, and if there comes a time that I leave my job you can bet I will spend every minute I can to raise public awareness of this disease. Please keep us posted.

<hugs> Lori
