Guest guest
> I asked for Armour but he said that the FDA is getting ready to >pull it because each tablet doesn't contain same amount that it >says it does. Uhh, Rita.....that statement made by your doc classifies for my GIVE ME A BREAK folder. Forest Pharmaceuticals is following the requirements for product formulation consistancy standards as established by the USP (United State Pharmacopia)!!! Even Forest states: " To ensure that Armour® Thyroid tablets are consistently potent from tablet to tablet and lot to lot, analytical tests are performed on the thyroid powder (raw material) and on the actual tablets (finished product) to measure actual T4 and T3 activity. Different lots of thyroid powder are mixed together and analyzed to achieve the desired ratio of T4 to T3 in each lot of tablets. This method ensures that each strength of Armour® Thyroid will be consistent with the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) official standards and specifications for desiccated thyroid lot-to-lot consistency. The ratio of T4 to T3 equals 4.22:1 (4.22 parts of T4 to one part of T3). " If I was in your shoes, I'd INSIST that I want to be put on Armour, period. You are missing out on the T4, T2, T1 and calcitonin. (And even IF the FDA did pull it, you can be benefitting from it ALL THIS TIME!!) UM, that is the blanket statement made by every doctor that is bought & paid for by Synthroid. I have heard it SO many times I just want to throw up when I hear it now! You might ask them how come Synthroid is the one that gets recalled for potency issues and not Armour???? Guest guest
That's right, many many many times, and that also includes Levoxyl and other synthetic T4 meds, except for Unithroid. Armour hasn't been recalled, that I know of, and certainly not during our " thyroid knowledge times " . Most of us keep up with ALL the news on the sbjct here and on other thyroid groups as well. $ynthroid has been drug through the courts, having to pay off people in a judgment because of their false statements to the public. This has NEVER happened with Armour. However, many falso statements have been made ABOUT Armour by seeds from pharmaceutical companies who would like to see it go down the drain. How come so many millions are taking it worldwide, with no advertisement and such? Because the proof is in the puddin'. Guest guest
and - ask them why it took so long for synthroid to get approval - why they tried to fight having to get approval - and to ignore the FDA when it was required that they get approval - Cris Re: Re: update - Rita -9 invisible diseases + Armour + Cymotel > I asked for Armour but he said that the FDA is getting ready to >pull it because each tablet doesn't contain same amount that it >says it does.
