Guest guest
Hi All~! I haven't posted for a few months, but I have been so frustrated with my doctor! I had a complete thyroidectomy in February. I was on Synthroid for only a month before switching to Armour. I feel fantastic! I have my usual boundless energy, my mood swings have stabilized, and I have lost 35 pounds! I was thrilled to death when my family doc " allowed " me to take Armour. She prescribed only 1 grain in the beginning, and ran a full lab...Only once! She said I didn't need another one for three months and then it was TSH only!! She said it was not medically necessary to order more than the TSH. Well, I have been self medicating a supplement ( addition) to the 1 grain, and was taking 3 grains. Well, my first test in three months showed my TSH to be .03~! Yes, .03. My doctor freaked because it was so low. I freaked because she would not order the tests I felt I needed. What a mess!! I feel good, not too hyper. Please I need some suggestions. You all have helped me so much these last few months!!! Have a blessed day~! ~*
Guest guest
Hi , If I put myself in your shoes I would carry on doing what you are doing now - self medicate and go by symptoms and not stupid lab tests Lynda (in the UK) I am about to fire my doc~! Guest guest
Hi ! Lynda said it all!! And by the way, when I last tested on 3 grains, my TSH was .009, even lower than yours, and I felt fantastic!! You've got an ignorant TSH doc. LOL. So yes, you have two choices. Search for a better doc, or self-medicate. You hang in there--you did the right thing!! Where are you? Perhaps someone here can locate a doc near you!
