Guest guest
>While l was sitting by my puter yesterday ...all of sudden..was like someone took a black shade and closed out my sight..l saw only black and bright jagged lights.. no pain by my eyes...no bad head acks either.. l said to myself..OK Rita do not panic..this will go away... Glad to hear you went to the doctor. This sounds very scary. I know how you feel because every day here is something else with me too. I just try to stay calm. Then I always think things could always be worse. I blame most of my problems on my diet or else a drug that I am taking...... Take care. Guest guest
Kathy - I've had something like what you describe. At work, at puter, under flourescent light. A lightning flash in my right eye, followed by flashing stars on a mostly black background for several hours. That was just the beginning of eye problems for me, because the diabetes had not yet been diagnosed and was not dx'd for another two years, even tho I saw 12 different doctors in that time. I finally had to stop working altogether because the combination of those TV-screen type computer screens and flourescent lights is deadly to my eyes. I have an LCD screen at home now, and no flourescent lights in my house, anywhere, ever. Even tho getting the bgs under control has helped a lot, I have amber colored wrap-around sunglasses (Sav-On Drug Store) that I have to wear in some flourescent light situations now, and my computer glasses are amber tinted to cut out the blue part of the spectrum, since that's the part that gets me. Your situation, of course, may be entirely different from mine. I had an opthalmologist do every test there is, and no visible permanent damage to my eyes. As bgs get lower my eyesight seems to be sharpening up, and the incidences of sensitivity are less, except in certain stores that use the cheapest flourescent tubes they can buy.
