I don't....am on my second time of insulin...last time I lost so much weight that I didn't need it anymore And am losing this time.... I think what happens is this... We should eat when we are hungry Most people eat when they are thirsty, bored or stressed and many other reasons that don't have to do with hunger. I can control alot of those false hungers but the one that always gets me is the false hunger from a high blood sugar....so the insulin has taken that away. I take lantus and sometimes forget to eat.... I feel better and am less stressed so I eat less. I'm not so dang thirsty so I don't eat for thirst I feel stronger so I can do the things I love to do which keeps me from getting bored...so I don't eat. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it......well...I'm sticking myself everynight...does that count? Ressy
Guest guest
I also haven't gained weight on insulin. I'm very careful to match insulin to carbs eaten and I watch portion size too. And it also might help that I'm not a type 2, smile... Guest guest
> I try to eat about 30-40g of carbs a day. Most people would consider 30-40 grams of carbs a very low carb diet. That's what Bernstein recommends. The Four Corners Diet, which is also considered LC, allows up to 50 grams of NET carbs. Life Without Bread allows up to 75 g of carbs. I think a lot of people confuse the Atkins Induction diet, which allows only 20 g of carbs, to be the typical low-carb diet. Or they think a LC diet is a no-carb diet in which you can eat nothing but meat, fish, eggs, and cheese. > What with > eating a mini-meal every 3 hours, I really don't have /time/ to get > hungry. Sounds good to me <G>. Gretchen
