Guest guest
Becky, I am really fat to! I just started only walking a little way and then went further and further. My excercise of choice is deffinately swimming, it helps so much with the fibro. My sister has a pool and jacuzzi (sp) and it works great. I love to sit in the hot water. I would stay there for hours if I could. a c

Hi Moshe, Wow, I am impressed. Dr. Fink, the Medical Advisor for the SPF, says that a good portion of his patients say exercise offers big benefit. A friend of mine who sticks to a good daily exercise program saw him for his annual visit last month. Dr. Fink said he had actually improved over the previous year. And he thinks that is because of the exercise. There is no scientific study, but Dr. Fink has the largest clinic of PLSers in the country, and based on what he hears from them, he recommends doing as much as possible without harm. I know some people say it harms, rather than improves. And people shouldn't work to exhaustion or pain. Everyone is different and has different limits. I felt much better when I was exercising regularly and although I am not back on track, I have made a committment to a walk each day and have kept that up the first week. have a good one, Kathi www.sp-foundation.org

Guest guest
Hello Kathi, when I started to visit the neuro(that I left because I didn't like is attitude) I told him that I make physical exercises (than four times more that to day)and asked him for is opinion and he wouldn't respond, after six month I told that I quitted sport and he wouldn't care. 18 month after I first fell I felt very weak and then I took my own decision and bought a orbitrek (you can see http://images.google.co.il/images?q=orbitrek & hl=iw & lr= & ie=UTF-8 & inlang=iw & sa =N & tab=wi The first day I managed to turn the pedal only 4 times but within a month I did 600 turns in 15 minutes and believe me my sensation was different and about pains I don't have any at all and if I feel any while exercising I stop it right away, for me the more important is the ability of the movement itself more of the power invested in it MOSHE - Re: exercise In a message dated 6/6/2003 11:10:03 PM Eastern Daylight Time, PLS-FRIENDS writes: > my PLS is slowly progressing, and with > no scientific prove I believe that part of it is thanks to hard physical > work that consist 40 to 60 minutes at home and than i go every day to a club > to a gym room and practice on a walker 20-30 minutes and after it I > practice 10 minutes on a pedal tool standing, than I change and go to a 20 > minutes swim.
