I have 2 or 3 cups of regular coffee every morning. For me, I have lost 16

lbs in 2 weeks. So, it doesn't hinder my weight loss at all. But, I know what

he means by it but I gotta have my coffee!!!!!!

Hi Sue and everyone!

My name is Kristi and I am on my second day of induction. I was a svelte

teenager (who thought she was fat) who, 12 years later finds myself with 100

lbs. to lose. During these years, my only " serious " attempt was through

Nutri-systems which didn't work, and since then (1989), I have read many diet

and nutrition books and have eaten lowfat with dramatic results...in the

wrong direction! LOL

I had always avoided Atkins because I listened to media hype and didn't

believe that it could work...however a diet buddy that answered my cry for

help on a " lowfat " diet BB insisted that I just get DANDR and Protein Power

and read for myself. THANK GOODNESS I did!

I have been following the Protein Power program for three weeks w/some

results (lost 6 lbs. and 3 inches) and I do feel MUCH better, but I have come

to realize that I truly am ultra sensitive to carbs and chose to make the

switch to Atkins. I am utterly convinced that lo-carb is and will always be

a WOL for me. I feel like my prayers have been answered w/ a diet that I can

live with and be successful in regaining my health.

By truly following the Induction period, I know that I will do better w/out

the additional carbs that P.P. allowed and also I am decaffinating myself as

we speak (yes...I have a headache!)

I have been surfing the web since the day I began eating low-carb and have

been searching for a group to join because I have been so inspired by the

dozens of personal web sites and journals that I have visited.

Thank you for allowing me to join...I look forward to receiving and giving

support to all of us who NEED this WOE for true health.

:-)Kristi

Hi ,

Thank you for your warm welcome.

Today was the first day on the diet! So far so good. Actually I haven't been

hungry at all

and I'm really looking forward to the new energy that going to come my way.

I have started a journal one section is for my thoughts and feelings and the

other section

is where I am writing and tallying my meals and carb. grams.

I'll let you know how it's going!

Thanks Celia: )

I can't even imagine eating pork rinds --lol. I never ate them before

Atkins. Then again, I didn't eat spinach before this either and now I'm

eating almost a bunch a day--go figure. I'll buy a small bag on the way to

work tomorrow and see what they taste like. Using them as bread crumbs

sounds interesting. I let you know how it goes. Have a happy Friday.

Thanks for asking--I love to cook!!

Beef Soup

2lbs stew beef cut in bite size pieces

1 med onion diced

2 carrots diced

1 28oz can of tomato puree

a handful of fresh dill (you can use parsley too)

1 box of frozen chopped spinach

salt and pepper to taste

In a large soup pot brown the beef in some olive oil. Add the onion and

carrots. Cook until soft and add the tomato puree. Add enough water to make

it the consistancy you like. I fill the tomato can up with water and use

that. Throw in the dill and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about

and hour and 1/2 or until the beef in very tender. Put the frozen spinach

right in the soup pot and cook until hot again. I topped mine with pecarino

romano grated cheese. It was awesome!!!!

I don't know the carb count but it can't be much. Let me know if you like it.
