Guest guest
Dee- I just wanted to thank you for the informative reply. I am using a cream called Coestra HP. I am going to call the pharmacist and find out what the cream is. I believe it is in the crisco base. I was using the steroid Tamovate coumpounded with the same base, and that was maintaining it, but after what you said maybe the long term use thinned the skin out, thus causing me to need the estrogen. He gave me the steroid licoid lipocream this time, which he said is more mild. Have you heard of any other steroid cream lighter? I have the vagifem and was told to rotate them with the anusol. I have been using the anusol nightly so I think I will alternate. I use the lipoid cream 2 times a day, and coestra 2 times a day. The goal now is to get the skin under control I Know, and patience it the key. I have a hard time with that. I think the fear of ( " what if I don't get better.) I also read the V book this weekend and have been doing so mich research I am wondering so many things my head is spinning. I would love to find a vulvar specialist, but I haven't had any luck finding one in the south west area yet. Thanks for the insight and the good advice. Sometimes reasuuarnce is the best thing for me. I will try to taper down on the steroids, and find out more about the topical estrogen I use. One thing that has felt good for me is to soak in glycerine. I get a white washcloth soak it in 2/3 glycerin and water and that feels good. I usally wear a pad and put the wash cloth on it and put some pressure to push the washcloth on the vulva area. That is usually my last resort and it helps sooth a bit. I am interested in the milk idea ;') Thanks, Annie
