Guest guest Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Lily/ Hollis...... Quick question. Did you experience extra fatigue when starting Cytomel ? I started out taking 5 MCG and had no side effects at all (3 days). So, I upped that to 10 MCG and still no side effect as in racing heart or sweating or any of that, just notice a lot more urinating and daytime sleepiness??? Also - when put on the Cytomel, did your doc say anything about it possibly depleting testoterone stores? I use patch form of estradiol, so I'm pretty sure it isn't supposed to affect that. Thanks in advance Dusty Dusty, I was only on Cytomel a matter of a few weeks before (at what i think was 15 mcg.) i was forced to stop because i experienced intolerable hyperness and heart pounding. So, for me, it was the opposite. If there was any fatigue as i was raising, i can't remember it now. I have no idea about any Cytomel/testosterone connection. My doctor didn't mention anything to me about one, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't one. Are you experiencing a change in your libido? Hollis Quote
Guest guest Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Hi Dusty, Did you experience extra fatigue when starting Cytomel ? It's interesting that you mention that, because I used to experience fatigue after an a few hours of feeling "high" (eg., feeling active and alert). I experienced fatigue with caffeine too, so I just thought it was just me. My guess was that my somewhat weak adrenals weren't able to keep up with initial burst of cellular activity caused by taking Cytomel (ie., it felt like my body is not used to dealing with a higher level of metabolism). I no longer experience fatigue with Cytomel though, and I think it has to do with raising the dosage very slowly and gradually. I started out taking 5 MCG and had no side effects at all (3 days). So, I upped that to 10 MCG and still no side effect as in racing heart or sweating or any of that, just notice a lot more urinating and daytime sleepiness??? I wonder if your fatigue will subside if you increased it to 7.5 mcg (50% increase) instead of 10 mcg (100% increase)... Also - when put on the Cytomel, did your doc say anything about it possibly depleting testoterone stores? I didn't hear anything about depleting testosterone stores. That's an interesting point. Where did you hear about this? (My blood test consistently shows low estradiol, testosterone and DHEA levels, so I'm using a topical testosterone, topical estradiol and oral DHEA.) Lily Quote
