Guest guest
Sharon, I don't know, ironically after 13 years of RSD, first in my left lower extremity and now my left wrist, I have been looking into accupunture, etc. I'll let you know if I find anything good. Am reading a book on such treatments now and will get back to you. Also, wondered if he would be willing to participate in my RSD study. I know there are children out there with it, and yet it's hard to locate anyone. The survey is very simple and can be done anonymously. My pharmacist believes the results I am thus far collecting (half way there!) would support a research grant upon completion. It excites me greatly as I believe fighting RSD is my purpose on earth. Anyway, I'd sure appreciate it if he would fill it out. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for responding to my email regarding my nephew. Yes, I will call my sister tonight and ask her to help me fill out your questionnaire. I think they should get involved in more of the research / clinical studies, but that is just my thought. What book are you reading regarding alternative treatments? I have been searching for additional references and would appreciate knowing more about your searches. Again, thank you for your much needed help. Guest guest
Sharon, Any questions don't hesitate to ask. I've had this for 13 years. Since I was 18, and I have been active in the research of it for the past several. When it was my ankle what finally helped me (and some others but I don't know a specific number) were high doses of prozac (my dr. believes that a lack of serotonin in the brain plays a part in RSD. And he is a genius! He pioneered the parkinson's disease brain surgery that has changed so many lives) and topical medication called ketamine. You won't find it on the internet, online the discussion of ketamine is about animals and being used at Raves because of side effects. However, for us it was made into a topical solution that could be applied whereever and whenever the pain was. I assisted in writing a med journal article on this and am in the process of trying to get it on my webpage. My dad doesn't know how to use his scanner so I had to snail mail it to a friend to scan and put up. It will tell a lot about that. As for the book I am reading it's by Darrell Stoddard and called " Pain Free for Life. " It's about pain in general although he has dealt with RSD, and is eager to meet with me---talked to his nurse last week while he was out of town. But, it's all noninvasive, and it seems he has had very great results. Thank you for asking him to do the survey. I want so much to get a grant to further research this, it's my passion. I want to find a cure, for all of us. And again, don't hesitate if you or he have questions. I've spent the past 13 years reading everything I could find on RSD from hospital libraries, and researching it in one form or another. My doctor thinks I am pretty well educated on the subject, he used to make his residents listen to me!LOL So, I'd be happy to help, sometimes it does take me a day or so to reply because I get about 3-400 e-mails a day! But I will reply I promise you that! Good luck! Chris Sharon wrote: > Hi , > > Thank you for responding to my email regarding my nephew.
