JoAnn,

My Back started hurting after I had a few blocks done also. This was because although the needles wasn't stuck in the exact same spot.....it still bruised a large area each time, and the next time the needle went in, it would hit that bruise and make it hurt.

But, then again, The blocks also made the RSD spread into my lower back where the needles went in at. I was put out during all 6 blocks too. But, the last 2, I did put an ice pack on the spots where the incisions were done....it did help with the pain and swelling right after I got out of the surgery area. That was before I realized that it had spread into my lower back.

I know that ice on the area that DOES have RSD is a big NO-NO...but, if you don't have RSD in that area.....it does feel pretty good!

Thanks for the answer Tonia. I was just so surprised that after this much time it still hurts. Especially if I pick something heavy up with just one arm and pulls me to that heavier side. Take care and thanks again

lots and lots of chocolate to eat will be perfect. Just think about it Babs and all doesn't it at least make you grin a little?s MommmaJoAnn

Hi JoAnn, Sure makes me smile, thanks. It would be nice if someone would pay for it though. I am doing fine, thanks for asking.

Some days are better than others of course, just like everyone else with RSD. Weather here is changing again. We are expecting some snow tonight into tomorrow. Has been cold lately. Last week it got up to 45 degrees. Boy a heat wave. Now it is down in the 20's again. Of course, it is better than below zero. Take care and have a good night.

Hugs,

babs

Tom: Hi! Nice to meet you, I just read your post to JoAnn that you have been diagnosed with Merglia Paresetica. I too have this, I was injured on my job in 1996. I worked at a car plant, and I pinched the "Femoral Cutaneous Nerve" in my left leg. ( Thigh Area). I had under went several different treatments for this condition, meds, therapy, surgery. I had SEVERE BURNING PAIN from this. Like I said they worked on me for 17 months and 3 days, I then underwent surgery for the nerve. This was back in 1997. I had to rebuild all the muscles in my body from this surgery. It took me 9 months of extensive Circuit Training to get back to my job. Well after all of this, I was off and on from my job. I lost all together about 2 1/2 years time from this injury. I than was pulled in for a FCE Test for Workman's Comp and was told if I didn't pick up 103 pounds I would lose my job. I had two kids depending on me back then to take care of them. I had no choice but do it, well 4 weeks later.

The pain hit and it was out of this world, I had burning pain after I had picked up this weight, but thought maybe it wasn't that bad. I was at work again, when the pain had hit me, a severe burning pain went straight down my left leg again, this time I knew what that was, after all I had just had a nerve injury to my left leg, called Merglia Paresetica. I was later diagnosed with RSD in 1998. I just had my workman's comp trial before the Arbitrator. It only took me 7 1/2 years to get a trial, after all of this. I lost my case, they made sure my witnesses would not show up for court. In my medical documents one doctor put in there if I was able to prove it, it was work related. All of other doctors agreed. The day before Court, I went to my lawyers office and my witnesses had called and said they could not make it to Court. If they showed they would lose their jobs! Because of this, I lost my case. I have been through HELL these past several years, I hope noone else has to go

through this, was this fair? No it wasn't, I have a long haul ahead of me for now on, and it is there responsibility and I had to pay for everything. I was the one that lived on $300.00 dollars a month after I lost my job. I was able to get my SSDI in 2001. Thank god, I don't know what I would have done without this to live on. I have been paying for all my meds for along time. I have to get help to pay for all of these meds, sorry for rambling on. I hope you are doing better than I was back then. I now have Merglia Paresetica, RSD, Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Syndrome., Herninated L5-S1 disc. Degenerative disc disease too. I had never been hurt in my life, and now look at what all I have now. I worked as a secretary in my past before I went to work in the plant. I wish I could take all of this back. Too late for me, but not for others!!Do have the electrical jolts with your pain, ouch they hurt real bad. Have a pain free day and night. JanetTom

Thanks for such a great message, I also, to look forward to knowing you better. Since I've joined the group I just feel mentally better, mostly everyone is great and more than willing to help each other I only hope that I can return what has been given to me. Iam up to 15 different medications per day, I have insurance however, everything is a fight.I'll send you another note with my medication list, Iam sorry to say that I may be wheel chair bound soon, as Iam losing control of my legs which simply drop out from under me without warning when I move in certain positions that bring even a sharper pain.Iam told it's either the nerves in my hip (RSD) causing the give out or it's my "brain' sending signals trying to protect me from feeling the pain?? Iam scheduled for another emg sometime soon, the last one showed that I got meralgia

paresetica, from the bone graft surgery and RSD on top of that. After positive MRI's, cat scans, emg's, the insurance company has placed me on a catastrophe claimant status advising me that I will exceed my policy limits for medical of one million dollars sometime n the near future, I was a business owner and had the top insurance for personal auto coverage the state of N.J. offers. Iam starting to ramble!! Please stay in touch, Best regards, Tom Lasko
