Guest guest
What you have is diabetic neuropathy. With some people " reasonable numbers " are not good enough to avoid complications. The numbers you gave us, are they from home blood tests? Or are they you A1c tests? How often you do test at home? What medications are you on? If these were not A1c results, what are those numbers? After eating? Fasting? How long have you been diabetic? There are some supplements that can help slow down, stop, or perhaps even reverse neuropathy. Of course, tight control is the best solution. By tight I mean numbers in the fives. With the new laws in Europe acquiring these supplements may no longer be possible. I refer, in particular, to benfotiamine, alpha lipoic acid (sustained release) and oil of evening primrose. Helen
Guest guest
Helen, I have that too. I know low numbers help everything. But does exercise help beginning stages of neuropathy? Oh that will be great if we cannot even get the supplements anymore. Holy Cow!!! Lou Helen Mueller wrote: > > What you have is diabetic neuropathy. I just started taking alpha lipoic acid yesterday because I have read so many good things about it. Give me a few weeks and I will let you know if I see any difference. Guest guest
I picked up a package of rye bread from the bakery and saw that a 2 oz serving had only 20g of carbs. Boy, was I surprised. Lower-carb, whole-grain bread for about $2 a loaf? No one tell the bakery, or they'll jack up the bloody price to double and label it " low carb " *GRRRR* That said, pumpernickel is also supposedly lower in carbs and on the glycemic index, naturally so.
