Is DPT different from DPaT?

No nothing...it's what the doctor used on his own children & they do go to

public school.....in Oregon

If my kids wouldn't have reacted I too wouldn't be at all worried, but both

of mine did everytime. I don't think anyone is dishonoring anyone's

decision for vaccines. I just am worried about my children having a worse

reaction later on. I would feel horrible.

Perhaps I am alone here, but I do immunize my children. I have researched

the

subject and still decided to do it. I will probably do so more selectively

in the future though. Neither of my kids have had even so much as a fever

after them. I just wanted to give another perspective.

DPT is the old version DPaT is the acellular pertussis vaccine which is

not a live virus like the other ones. It has much less reactions than the

DPT

Since your hubby is also a Chiropractor (and MAN I wish there were one out

here in the Azores!! I miss mine!), maybe you both can help me with this

one.

You probably know that the military doesnt recognize Chiropractic Medicine

as " real " medicine, nor Naturopathic or homeopathic. The dilemma here is

that currently, my children are given either the option of going to a

Department of Defense Dependents School (DoDDS) or home-schooling. I

really am exploring the hoeschooling option, but I am also trying to finish

*my* schooling as well, and there will be times where I wont be able to do

both...

How does the military recognize these medical options? isnt ever

getting vaccinated again, and probably not either. wont

need another for many more years, so I may not have to face that issue with

him.

How do I find one out here?

Mine are all immunised against Polio, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, TB,

mumps and rubella.

I respect other peoples decision not to immunise and am always interested in

reading information on the subject. (thanks !)

I said she shouldn't get the 12 month vaccines, because her child did have

bad reactions, that's the only reason I said not to. Read the sites, the

info....if someone has a reaction, it's their body/system not being able to

handle it. I'm talking about serious reactions, not a sore arm or slight

fever.

As of this post I will not comment, nor will I write anything more regarding

vaccines.

I gave the chicken pox shot well for 3 reasons cause I don't see

anything wrong with shots and he has never had a bad reation to any of them

and I have never had th chicken poxs so I don't want HIM to get them and give

them to ME.
