Original message:<<I can't find much information about VV and pregnancy anywhere so I'd really appreciate hearing any thoughts or experiences, or pointers tomore resources. >> Carolyn, I wanted to reply because your experiences sound so much like mine! My doctor was unwilling to prescribe estrogen while I was pregnant. I thought it was strange that if pregnancy is a time of elevated estrogen, then why was my VV just as bad? I don't have any answers for you, but I surely sympathize--I've been there twice. Actually, my pain stayed high even while breastfeeding. So my poor hubbie went at least a year without intercourse with each baby. I was SO worried and scared about delivery, I can't even express my

fears. My doctor said a lot of times it helped women with these kinds of problems--I couldn't understand how, except that maybe the trauma of it would just destroy those nerve endings that were going so haywire anyway. I prayed that God would have happen whatever was best for my situation, whether that be a vaginal delivery or c-section, even though I really did NOT want surgery. I ended up with a c-section after 24 hours of labor. And scheduled the second one then, too. So...if I were you, I would tell the doctor exactly what you wrote here about the skin bleeding, etc. That's so terrible for you! (Getting the cervix checked repeatedly is another thing I was worried about, pain-wise.) Anyway, just wanted to let you know there were more of us out here that can relate. Hope the pregnany itself is going well for you! Becky
